Branding oneself, even in the figurative sense, is inherently a slightly odd endeavor. This concept arose back in my art-school days, when I looked for a suitable monogram to put on my pieces instead of a signature. What I came up with at the time was fairly sharp and angular, influenced by Albrecht Dürer.

When it came time to build this site, in search of a visual hook I returned to this concept, but wanted something rounder and more organic. As is often the case, the simplest solution was the best, and the finished work uses negative space for the defining angle of the "k" which also serves to carve the necessary area to make the circle into a "g".
