Dissident 27 EP
In creating the CD packaging for this release by a Portland, Ore. band, I took a direct, no-nonsense approach that mirrors that of the band. I shot photos of the band in a variety of appropriately rough-edged settings, sometimes in less-than-ideal conditions, and the band echoed my choice for the cover photo--a clear, strong shot that captured the individual members' personalities with confidence and humor. The run-down urban setting and bold text also recalls classic punk album designs of yesterday, powerfully underscoring the band's arrival.
The CD's release made a splash and the band has reported that its design has caught many eyes and helped them to stand out from other bands in the regional scene.
